Helping you create thriving edible and ornamental gardens through workshops, garden design, composting, and expert guidance
Hi, I’m Anu.
I live in Bengaluru with my husband, Sanjay, and our two lovable dogs, Nora and Kulfi.
I never set out to become a gardener. It all began in 2012, when I started composting our kitchen waste to reduce our family’s carbon footprint. Soon I had beautiful compost, but almost nothing to use it on other than the lawn! So I bought a few plants. Those few pots have now grown into a thriving rooftop garden with 400+ pots filled with vegetables, fruits, herbs, medicinal plants, leafy greens, flowers, and happy pollinators.
Before discovering my love for gardening, I completed an MBA in Business Administration in India and the United States and enjoyed a corporate career with GE, KPMG, and ANZ IT. I now bring together those experiences with years of hands-on gardening to help others grow with confidence.
Today, I conduct hands-on gardening workshops and consultations for individuals, families, schools, corporates, and community groups. From composting and kitchen gardening to microgreens, medicinal plants, and creating thriving indoor and outdoor spaces, my goal is to make gardening simple, practical, and enjoyable for everyone.
My dream is to see every home grow a little food, every school have a garden where children learn from nature, and every workplace create a green space where people can pause, breathe, and reconnect.
I believe gardening is for everyone. With a little curiosity, some patience, and the right guidance, anyone can grow a thriving garden—whether it’s on a balcony, terrace, a backyard, or even a sunny windowsill.
I’d love to help you grow yours.

Anu was my inspiration for gardening! Observing her success with simple techniques encouraged me to start my own kitchen garden, and I have been amazed at what I have achieved. Its Thyme to Garden provides the essential what-why-how-when knowledge for anyone to apply organic gardening methods immediately!

I joined the Its Thyme to Garden presentation at the 1Q1 restaurant as a novice, inspired by the posts I had seen in the news media and on Facebook. I was searching for a practical and self-sustaining solution for my kitchen garden – and that’s exactly what I found. Anu brought to life the world of organic gardening and generously offered post-presentation advice that fast-tracked my understanding and helped me get started on my own little patch of heaven.

Anu’s passion for organic gardening in her terrace garden is contagious—her students have all successfully started their own kitchen gardens and are enjoying this therapeutic hobby and essential life skill! She has accumulated a wealth of knowledge about organic practices over the years, which she generously shares during her signature course, “It’s thyme to garden”! I’m proud to know her.

As a reasonably proficient farmer, I attended Anu’s class hoping to enhance my knowledge and bring the concepts of gardening into the confines of my home. I can testify that the skills imparted during the session allowed me to see the connections and the differences in creating a thriving kitchen garden. Her session really is a one-stop answer to understanding the entire organic home garden eco-system.

Thyme to Garden is what made me realize yes! I think I can do it too. Anu's workshops gave me a fresh perspective on gardening, especially her tips and insights on creating a kitchen garden, right from sourcing organic seeds to long-term maintenance, keeping it practical and simple along the way.

Anu’s passion for gardening is truly infectious! After attending a session with Anu, I was inspired to start my first kitchen garden, and I've returned to ‘thyme to garden’ many times for organic gardening tips and tricks. It’s an amazing learning experience.

A wonderful session on gardening! The passion for gardening and the clarity of the resource person made it easier and simpler to understand. I am now excited to start my own kitchen garden with organic practices.
A session packed with immensely new ideas and very useful tips for gardening enthusiasts, especially those interested in creating their own kitchen garden with organic methods. Truly inspired.
What an awesome session! I have been doing some kitchen gardening for some time now, but today’s session opened a whole new perspective on organic gardening techniques! Congratulations, team!

It was an interesting gardening session. My 7-year-old joined in, as he spends the maximum time on the terrace experimenting with various seeds and plants for his kitchen garden. He was a bit lost, but I feel much more informed now to guide him in growing organic plants. Thank you!

Very informative and nice session. I've been trying my hand at gardening, specifically growing a few vegetables in my kitchen garden from time to time. Sometimes the results are good, and other times it's just a disaster. But now, with some tips from Anu ji, I believe I can achieve better results in my organic gardening efforts. Thanks, Suruchi.
